Kalshi has secured multi-year marketing partnerships with five Major League Baseball franchises, gaining in-stadium advertising rights and app-based promotions while league-wide terms remain under discussion

Kalshi has entered into multi-year marketing agreements with five Major League Baseball teams, marking its first direct partnerships with MLB franchises. The deals, which cover the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants, provide Kalshi with a range of advertising and promotional rights at the team level. These partnerships come as Kalshi continues to negotiate with MLB for a potential league-wide arrangement, but no such broader deal has been finalized.

Scope of the Team Partnerships

Under the new agreements, Kalshi will receive advertising placement on in-stadium signage and LED boards, as well as promotional exposure across the teams’ social media, digital channels, and radio broadcasts. The deals also include fan engagement activities and, in some cases, team-specific offers accessible through the Kalshi app. Notably, at Dodger Stadium, Kalshi has acquired naming rights to the Gold Glove Bar, an indoor venue located beneath the Left Field Pavilion. Dodgers fans can expect additional on-site activations and app-based bonus offers throughout the season.

Player Access and Market Impact

Through these partnerships, MLB fans in eligible jurisdictions can use Kalshi’s platform to trade on outcomes related to games, player performances, and season-long futures. The company reports that baseball-related trading volume on its platform has increased more than 36 times year-over-year, with nearly $60 million traded in its World Series futures market alone. According to Kalshi, the five partnered teams represent close to 17% of MLB’s 30 franchises and have a combined estimated fan base of 60 to 65 million, with approximately 9 million followers on X.

Legal and Competitive Landscape

Kalshi’s expansion into MLB comes amid ongoing legal scrutiny of its sports event contracts in several states. In Massachusetts, an injunction affecting Kalshi’s sports-related offerings remains paused pending appeal, while a Michigan court blocked the platform from offering sports bets to residents as of June. Meanwhile, competitors are also pursuing team-level deals: Novig partnered with the New York Mets in July, and Polymarket signed with the New York Yankees in August. These developments reflect a broader trend of prediction market platforms seeking visibility through professional sports partnerships, even as regulatory questions persist.

Prediction markets like Kalshi allow users to trade contracts based on the outcome of real-world events, including sports results. Unlike traditional sportsbooks, these platforms operate under a different regulatory framework, often involving oversight from federal agencies such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission rather than state gaming regulators. The distinction between event contracts and sports wagers remains a central issue in ongoing legal and regulatory debates, affecting both platform operations and player access in various states.
