SBC Summit has announced a new partnership with BettingStartups to enhance its support for early-stage betting and gaming companies at the 2026 event in Lisbon. The collaboration will see BettingStartups take on the role of official host for the Startup Hub, as well as expand its involvement in the SBC First Pitch competition, both designed to spotlight emerging businesses in the gambling sector.
Startup Hub to Feature Dedicated Space
The Startup Hub at SBC Summit 2026 is scheduled to run from September 29 to October 1 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena. The Hub will be located between Halls 1 and 2, offering a dedicated exhibition area and networking lounge. This setup is intended to give startup founders a focused environment to present their products and services, while facilitating direct connections with investors, operators, commercial partners, and media representatives.
Expanded Role for BettingStartups
BettingStartups, recognized for its media platform, podcast, newsletter, events, and investment activities, will curate the Startup Hub and help select participating companies. The partnership is expected to bring a targeted group of early-stage startups to the event, giving attendees access to new technologies and business models shaping the future of betting and gaming. BettingStartups will also play a central role in the Product Innovation Showcase Stage, which on October 1 will be reserved exclusively for startup presentations.
SBC First Pitch Competition Details

Each finalist will have three minutes to pitch, followed by a three-minute Q&A session. The winner will receive a prize package valued at over €80,000, including services and resources to support further business development. Jesse Learmonth, founder of BettingStartups, will host the competition. Details on the five finalists and Startup Hub exhibitors are expected to be released ahead of the event.
Access and Participation

Operators, affiliates, and regulators may also qualify for complimentary passes, subject to approval. Full ticket options are available through the official SBC Summit website.
Startup competitions like SBC First Pitch are designed to give early-stage companies exposure to potential investors and partners. These events typically feature a live pitch format, where founders present their business models and answer questions from a judging panel. The process helps startups gain feedback, industry connections, and, for winners, access to resources that can accelerate their growth in a competitive market.
