NorthStar Gaming Holdings has named Corey Goodman as its permanent CEO after a period of interim leadership, while also announcing changes to its finance and compliance teams as the company works to complete delayed financial audits

NorthStar Gaming Holdings has officially appointed Corey Goodman as its permanent chief executive officer, ending his interim tenure and signaling a new phase for the company’s leadership. The decision comes as NorthStar continues to address financial reporting delays and operational challenges that have affected its standing in the Canadian gaming market.

Leadership Changes Finalized

Corey Goodman, who stepped in as interim CEO in December 2025, will now lead NorthStar Gaming Holdings on a permanent basis. The company credits Goodman with guiding NorthStar through a period of financial and operational stabilization, including efforts to resolve outstanding audit and reporting issues. The board’s chair, Dean MacDonald, publicly supported Goodman’s leadership, emphasizing the need for focus and discipline as the company works to complete its overdue financial statements.

Finance and Compliance Team Updates

Alongside the CEO appointment, NorthStar announced that Chin Dhushenthen has resigned as chief financial officer, effective August 17, 2026. Dhushenthen will remain in an advisory role during the transition. Ben Powell, a CFA charterholder and founding team member, has been named interim CFO. Powell’s experience with NorthStar’s financing and capital-raising activities is expected to support the company’s ongoing audit process. In addition, Krisztina Kalla has been appointed vice president of compliance, taking responsibility for regulatory and compliance matters as NorthStar seeks to strengthen its internal controls.

Audit Completion Remains a Priority

NorthStar Gaming Holdings continues to face pressure to complete its outstanding financial audits for the fiscal years ending December 31, 2023, 2024, and 2025. The company has engaged a chartered professional accountant as a consultant and made other enhancements to its accounting function to support this effort. According to the latest update, Davidson & Company, the firm responsible for the audits, expects to finalize the process later in 2026. The completion of these audits is critical for NorthStar’s regulatory compliance and market credibility.

In the context of regulated gambling markets, timely and accurate financial audits are essential for maintaining operator licenses and meeting disclosure requirements. Audits provide independent verification of a company’s financial health and compliance with regulatory standards. Delays or unresolved audit issues can affect an operator’s ability to maintain market access, secure financing, and build trust with both regulators and players.
